Going on a little vacation next month on Royal Carribean. Has anyone been on a regular cruise line recently and noticed whether the ships have caught on to the poker explosion? Any games or tournaments offered?
Otherwise, I will be forced to play craps which can be dangerous.

From all the cruises I've been on. The only poker you'll find is Caribbean Stud Poker. The casinos on the ships really aren't that big. And alot of space is given to slot machines.
Although I have seen the Poker Cruises. Which are geared towards gamblers, but if you're talking a regular cruise then no.

Yeah, I've paid my tab on a couple trips in the onboard casino playing craps and BJ. I heard they may now offer poker tournaments as a regular "at sea" event. I'll just get a side game going in the library I guess.
Carib. Stud is fun but really a sucker game. I did hit a flush in vegas killing time while the wife was shopping. Dealer didn't qualify of course which killed the payoff.

I'm going on a cruise this Thursday and the ship I'm going on does have a casino. Whether they offer poker or not is a different matter. I hope they do, I can't not play poker for 8 days!

I'm not aware of any ships that offer "real" poker. Most offer Caribbean Stud, but that obviously is a table game. You'll also probably have a hard time getting a side game in the card room, since 1) gambling is supposedly not allowed, and 2) most cruise ship passengers are old and on vacation.

I'm going with a whole gang of people who play. We'll get our own game going, that's what I meant. Old people love to play cards too. If they want to play I'll let em in.
On a cruise you can do any damn thing you want so long as you don't piss off other passengers.
