Hi guys,
I'm a decent poker player, I can net up to around 10 grand a week, the problem is when I'm up.. I want to keep on playing, and eventually go on a tilt.
I need suggestions, what do you guys do when you know you need a break?
I've thought of things like setting a timer so that after an hour I have to get off and do some physical activity, or when I'm up $200 at a table I go for a run, or play a video game.
So far I'm finding it difficult to follow my own rules.
Any suggestions?

You are on a dangerous path. A very, very dangerous path. These 'compulsions' can get ugly very quick. I've seen it, we've all seen it.
Don't limit yourself to an hour. Its not feasible. If the table is good, keep playing. I like to play for four hours, take a break, and then play another four -- but thats just me.
Yesterday I was getting my ass handed to me at the tables -- dropped $300 or so. So I went to the guitar store and beat the shit out of their percussion section. Came back, ended the day PLUS $200, meaning I made $500 when I came back.
Gotta find what works for you. A timer is a good idea, but dont set it unrealistically short. 3-4 hours is a good time.

I'm not totally convinced you make 10 grand a week but still have to set up artificial means of preventing tilt, especially ones which either limit you to a (ridiculously short) specified time period or prevent you from continuing on a winning table. The word "bullshit" comes to mind.
Yours, making a happy £50 a week,

Stay at the table if it is still juicy. The hit and run artists never win in the long run.Likewise don't quit if you're down;because the game you are in may still be quite profitable.

Well since you can net over a $1/2 milion every year, why don't you just hire a buxom model to stroke your balls and tell you not to go on tilt because everything will be ok...

For one thing, you have to be totally honest about the amount you win per week. Not the most you won the first week you were playing and that you've just been on a downswing ever since.

So he's saying he could net $10k/wk if he knew how to quit while he was ahead.
It's not such a belief stretch to say I'd be rich if I could sell stock at the top of the market, invest in bonds just before a market turn, or leave a poker table before I lost.
Be Nice, please?

Hey, mine was not an asshole comment. He seriously has to tell us how much he makes each week.
It's a leak if he actually believes he clears 10k a week becuase he did that mark once.

I can win thousands a night. Hell, I can even enter and win the main event of next Year's WSOP. Pretty much anyone can do it as well. Saying such though implies that it happens or will happen.
It's not so much being on a witch hunt as it is telling him to be honest with himself. Part of a being a successful poker player is honest appraisal of your game and your expectations. Your point is taken though eeeee.
Sarcasm aside... RbSX, if you had a stack of money sitting on your desk would you take a lighter to it every time you got angry? Of course not. It would be a foolish waste of money. Going on tilt is essentially the same thing. Playing well then subsequently losing money due to tilt is a cycle of futility. You simply must respect your bankroll if you have an desire of becoming a successful poker player . You'll lose enough money due to cold cards and variance.
