Maybe a dumb question but curious nonetheless. I play lots of microNL online and I'm a winning player (6.5ptBB/100 over 62K hands).

I'm interested in hitting AC this week sometime for the first time in a casino $1/$2 game. What should I expect of the play compared to the people who play in the local poker clubs? My assumption is that the guys who play 3-4 nights a week at the clubs are probably far better than the casino folks, generally speaking.

I don't like speaking in generalities or absolutes but is that assumption a terrible one?

Anyone have any experiences that can help me out?

I don't know how the people at your local club play, but I find the clubs around me are much softer than the casinos.

$1/$2 has a lot of terrible players who enjoy playing poker (badly.)

As you move up, generally the play gets tighter, more aggressive, the donators are richer and everyone rebuys more often.
