I've been playing SnG's all night again and i've run into a few really talented tight aggressive players, these are the guys you know you'll be facing off against at the end of the game. These guys have played ripptydes style and I placed second three times tonight, but I also placed first twice so im getting better. I know this is how I should be playing heads up, but how can I gain the initiative against a player like this? The only times I finished first are when they failed to notice my huge raise preflop and got hammered (then i just grinded them down and let the blinds eat them). Is there another way to gain the "respect" you need, or do you just have to pick your moment in heads up carefully; however, if that moment doesnt come in 2-3 hands and I'm short stacked i'll be dead.

P.S my last SnG was beautiful: guy was tight aggressive, i had 3000 to his 13000 stack, few lucky hands and were even, then I went to work on him, game lasted about another 8 hands and he got desperate on k-8o when i had A-jo (flop came Ace Jack).
