I'm using bisonbison's Poker Tracker rating system. Playing NL.

Over the past couple of days, I've found a couple of players that I'm interested in the correct strategy to play against. They fit into the extreme high end of the Taz category. VP$IP of 60-70, PFR of 25-30, and Agg of 5+(not including pre-flop). I've got over 100 hands against one guy and about 50 hands against the other. Not huge samples I know, but enough that I think these numbers can't just be a fluke.

How should I be dealing with someone like this? Should I loosen up my starting hands? Should I be raising pre flop with the hands I'd normally be trying to limp in with? I'm not really sure which way to go. I tried to only play group 1 & 2 hands thinking that I'd wait to have the goods and then use their aggession against them. But it's hard to order up group 1 & 2 hands on demand. Meanwhile, all my other hands I'd normally try to limp in with (small pp, Axs, even some A10s and AJ) would just get raised out of the pot.

Hmm, as I'm tpying this, I'm trying to answer my own questions. For starters, I think that I need to be sure to get position on this type of player. Then reraise big with a wider selection of cards, forcing the decision back to them.

Any additional thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Position is huge on these types of players. If you can get that, you have a big advantage on him right there.

As for cards, you really need to have the goods when it comes time to showdown with one of these types. That said, opening your raising standards against him won't really do anything. Unless he has shown that he will slow down to a reraise, just call along behind him with decent hands and only reraise when you have the goods. It's best to just wait him out and come over the top of him when you have VERY strong hands.

Heh, I had to think this one over a bit.

He's a maniac so do I want to play more hands with him and over-value waker hands? Or do I wanna camp with good cards and really try to get the money in the pot early?

I personally think I'd have an edge over the player who would be very willing to pay off my slightly strong hands like top pair or bottom two. The variance might get a bit crazy though.

If they're an experienced Uber agroo LAgg, the worst mistake you can make is to limp. That's basically how the sniff out monster hands. They look for the people trying to hide there strength in your bets.

I think you need to challenge him whenever you make a hand. He'll start reacting to you, and you'll get a better sense of how strong his hand is after a few clashes.
