This hand is from Event 54 the $1500 NLHE buy in from the WSOP.
We were maybe 15 minutes into the tournament with starting stacks of 4500. I have 99 in MP and UTG makes it 150. It folds to me and I smooth call, everyone else folds. The flop comes AJ9 rainbow. He continuation bets 250 and I flat. Turn brings another A. He checks and I bet 650 into a pot of 875 and he smooth calls. At this point with the call on the turn, I put him on AK, AQ, maybe AJ or JJ, although these are unlikely as I'd expect him to check raise me with either one. K's or Q's I think fold to my turn bet. River brings a rag, and he checks to me again. Do I try a value bet, knowing I have to be prepared to call a shove, or play it safe and check behind?
Results are unimportant, I just want to know if I made the right play.
EDIT: Should I have raised the flop?

Definitely a value bet for 3/4 of the pot, or pot size bet.
You're beaten by AA, JJ, A9, AJ here and that's a pretty small range so checking behind is the worst thing you can do to your hand.
He'd probably raise on the turn if he had a boat.
Value bet and you'll stack him off with his set of A's.

Easy value bet. He won't fold trip aces, and probably not even KK, QQ or Jx either.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
