You all know the chasing type: you limp with KQs in EP, and the flop comes Q83r, checked to you and you bet out, get called in a couple places by some poor players (the chase is on), turn comes 7, you bet out and get called, river is a 3, you check, and the bad player in the hand bets.
Which is the better option: pay him off or fold?
Seems like it's a close call:
On the one hand you want to encourage play like that...after all, it's those players who are calling with crap that give us most of their money.
On the other hand, if you KNOW he's got a better hand, would it be better to fold most of the time so that the chaser earns as little as possible for his efforts?
As for me, I'm inclined to pay off. I know it'll come back eventually and at the same time I want the other player feeling good, feeling like he's 'hitting cards.' Maybe at higher stakes (I play 3/6 and 4/8) it would be different, and I'd fold. *shrug*

If you know you're beat fold. It'll make them think you were bluffing and pay you off later. You don't have to encourage bad play becuase other weak players will. But you can't know he's calling you down with bottom pair unless you had a good read on him. The one exception to my first sentence is the first time, I'd pay off to see his hand since there is still a good chance KQ is good.
