some of the guys I play with want to get a SHOE game together (7CS, Hold-em, Omaha, Omaha 8-or-better) I was looking for advice on how to set up starting chipstacks, blind intervals, when to switch games, etc. they'll probably want to play 7CS and O8B limit, play Omaha Pot-limit, and play Hold-Em No-limit. We usually start with $15 in chips with .10-.20 blinds that go up every 30 mins.
suggestions?

I know they doe SHOE in the wsop, you could check the wsop site or the wsop section on espn to see what they have on it.

When writing up the Phil Ivey page I noticed that he won the 2002 wsop SHOE event. Let me know if you find out more about shoe, we may want to more details to the Phil Ivey page.

My understanding is that you play each game until the blinds change, then you play the next game. THere is a blind schedule on homepokertournament.com, or whatever it is.
I'm a know-it-all.

No, really.

It's usually one orbit of each game involved, they also have a variant called HORSE where you throw in Razz.

you usually have it played as an orbit per or a set time. i prefer the set time (an hour or so - depending on your total time) as it is better at randomizing postion for the games with positional advantage (the flop games).

also, the E is usually -7cs 8 or better- in HORSE, i believe it is the same for shoe - but who cares - play whatever game you want. they haven't had SHOE in the WSOP in years (if ever), but HORSE is coming back as a highly anticipated $50,000 buy in event this year.

Yeah, highly anticipated until they decided to change the format to NL Holdem once it gets down to the final table. Worst idea ever. The organizers fuck this up IMO.

They have televised other events such as Omaha, 7CS, and Razz. I understand these games don't have the mass appeal that NL Holdem has, but if they don't like the idea of trying to explain HORSE to a tv audience then simply don't televise the event. They don't televise the majority of the 30+ events anyways. You'd think that since many of the organizers of the WSOP are poker players themselves and have been around the game for a long time that would be more concerned about the integrity of the game than they would tv ratings. A high profile event like this would be an excellent chance to expose all the donks in tv land to other forms of poker and they are fucking it up.

ChezJ is an unknown quantity at this point
we play SHOE in our home games but in a cash game structure not a tourney. we just play each game for one round, then when the button comes back to the first person, the game changes.

unfortunately, the stud games take way too long compared to the community card games. and they come back to back if you go in strict S-H-O-E order. our group got sick of this, so we made it a dealer's choice game where the first dealer can pick any of the four variants, then it's played for a whole round, then when the button comes back, the next guy gets to pick.
