i sat down at a loose passive table and played tight for hours without winning any big pots. Suddenly, i ran into some action pots.

2 ep limpers, MP raised to $15, HJ called $15, hero called $15 with :As: on CO, limpers folded. MP folded some top pair hands before, HJ was semi-tight passive and ran super hot in this session.
MP($175)
HJ($640)
hero($280)
flop($52):
MP bet $40, HJ called $40, hero felt/shove or just flat call?
i put them on overpairs and figured that my flop fold equity might be good if i shove really. Any thoughts?

I'd shove. You're flipping if called probably like a 45/55 dog if they don't have AA.

If they both fold its great. If they both call its great. If one folds and one calls like I said earlier your flipping. I don't expect them to both fold often but they really don't need to to make a shove here very +EV

You don't need fold equity to make this a good shove. If you flat call, and MP has something like QQ and is not retarded, he will shove a blank turn and you have to fold if HJ doesn't come along. If HJ (what is HJ?) has a flushdraw he's probably overcalling the flop anyway, so I don't see the benefit of a flat call.

Fold pre-flop.

Shove the flop.

ok, folks. i liked my chances, gambled but failed miserably.
Fnord, i think that A3s on CO has the potential of developing into a big hand in live games. So why should we fold this hand preflop considering that the biggest stack might come along for the ride

You're playing a low SRP pot with a hand that won't hit hard enough often enough.

Suited Aces play best when:

o You're playing a 2-3ish way pot where you have (relative) position and figure to be able to take away the pot from an aggressive opener.
o You're (re)raising to represent a big hand. With initialtive and a low SPR you'll win the pot often via aggression, put more Ax in your re-raise range and have easy felts with some of your weaker flop hits by virtue of the pot size.
o You're playing a multi-way pot (against poor players) with A LOT of money behind. In a live game you're drawing cheap against all of the under-bets and min-raises.

The way I read the action is that MP has a hand here and there are still a lot of people to act who might re-raise.

how bad is flatting the flop considering I'd stack off on an Ace turn?

I think shoving is def a good play, but is it the best one?

Smithers, use the amnesia ray.
You mean the revolver, sir?
Precisely.

MP should shove most turns, putting us in a difficult spot when we miss. That said, it's live poker and a $40 turn bet wouln't surprise me.
