I recently bought a second set of kem cards. Today they came in the mail and to my surprise they were slightly different then the kems I bought over a year ago. Everything about them was the same except for quality, they feel grainy to the touch compared to the extreme smoothness of my old set, and also the picture quality of the ace is not as good(like it was laser printed on instead of impressed). I bought them from ebay(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...158049346&rd=1) . Furthermore my ace does not look like the one in the picture, the phone number is not present there, my guess these guys are making there own kems (somehow maybe because they are from Canada) and selling them on eBay and since the difference are slight and only a someone as anal as me would notice these subtleties they are getting away with this. I knew when I bought these something had to be wrong since they were cheaper then all the other kems around now I know why. So basically buyers beware.

Do you see the cards on here? Can you post a picture of the cards you have; I cant find mine online anymore.

I have set that is not on their site, they also have that grainy feel. I really do beleive they are knock-offs. They are still decent cards, but I do like to receive what I pay for. Do your jokers have letters on the chest? Some 2+2 guys were posting about some decks that have this.

I think if you buy a specific type of KEM (ie Arrow, Paisley) you will be fine. I ordered mine without requesting a specific type. I haven't ever heard of fake arrows or the other main types.
Is that guy still part of the forum??

My decks are called mallard(i think) they have hutning ducks on the back. Overall the cards are fine exceptthe grainess, which causes them to stack higher. Also they get away from you a little more than the old kems i have. Either way it is a decent product. I talked to the seller and he said i should send it back but really it is not worth the hassel. If i get my hands on a digital camara i will post the pics.

ChezJ is an unknown quantity at this point
all new plastic cards start out feeling grainy and get slicker with time as oils get deposited on them. this is normal.

with regard to the printing, i believe all KEMs in production today are photoreproductions of the original die-printed designs from the 1930s. like a xerox of a xerox.

if you want true lithographically printed plastic cards, i recommend copags, they are of extremely high quality. i have no affiliation with them, i'm just someone who knows about and appreciates good graphic design.

I went to http://www.kem.com/kembacks.html and it appears KEM's are back on sale.

Then i went to http://search.stores.ebay.com/search...&submit=Search

and they had designs which weren't on the KEM site. How is this possible?
