I have a friend who i both good and bad at poker. I say hes bad because i've seen him twice fold a straight being first to act after a flop. I say hes good because he always has a big stack.
Its puzzled me, i used to pick on him because he often made bonehead plays. He finally told all I need to know.
He had just beat me out of a pot. I had AJs, raised b4 the flop, he called.
Flop was rags. I bet big 2x the pot trying to scary everybody out, hes the only one who called. Turn was nothing, I bet double the pot again one last attempt to steal, he smooth calls again. River was a Q, I've had enough, I check, he checks. He had a pair of dueces that he hit on the flop!
We kinda picked on him a bit, in defence he expains that he knew that i always bet but not alot. This time the fact that i was aggressive that was all he needed to call the bets and take the pot.
He was playing the player.
Doing a damn fine job at it too.
Last few times we've played hes takes home more than his share of the cash.
Now with more Evil and a side of Hatred

Sounds like you found a really good poker player. I try to be very observant of other people and what they do and betting policy, but I have never been able to read people like your friend does. I hope to be as good as him someday.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.
