I have started a regular weekly live game with about 6 guys. They don't really know a whole lot (watch tv too much). I am a serious player and I go for the cash obviously and the fun. They will go all in with a 4 straight on the board and they will have the low end. They will bet middle pair and bottom pair like they have a-a. Also, they are the type of ppl that like to bluff all the time, raising huge on the turn only to fold on the river. Always go for draws, always call with middle pair, hope for that miracle card. Ok, after the player profile, I got to heads up and it was hard to put him on any kind of a hand. How do you play a maniac player heads up? Heads up you usually hit nothing, so how can you be aggressive and reraise him if he will call with middle/bottom pair and you have nothing? You can't always fold or you will be blinded out. Thanks for the help.

If you cannot beat him take the post flop skill out of the game. Go all in preflop with hands that are relatively strong. ie Ak-AQ and pockets above 77s. If he is truely bad he will call you with hands that are weaker than yours and all you hope is that you don't run tino a hand. Presto. Or someone else can comment on how to beat this guy in a more effective way. Hope my advice helps.

Great post pokerfanatico. Setting a limit for how much you can lose before you have to quit for the day is a good idea too. Once you know you're on tilt I think the most important thing to do is to stop playing!

I am in a similar situation to you, my friends that I play live with all seem to be pretty much like that. They will rarely fold if they hold any part of the board and are usually willing to go AI with TPNK.
I seem to be the only one that takes the game seriously and I try to get them to play cash as I'll usually come out on top. (25p/50p).
When we play Tourneys I find myself coming 2nd a lot, and it's funny because HU is a stronger part of my game. By the time I get HU The blinds are so huge we both have around 5BB max, so I end up pushing most hands and I usually get called when I'm 60 : 40 and lose  .
