Sounds weird I know ^^
But I just read that all-clay poker chips are considered the highest quality chips (even though they break after 5/6 years, where composite chips last longer).
So I was wondering...do you think it's possible to make my own poker chips? Is there a guide on how to do it somewhere? I know someone who has experience working with clay, but a if there is a guide I could skip the experiments

Id imagine it would be pretty hard and youd probably need some pretty expensive gadgetry.
It must be possible though or companies wouldnt be able to make them.

Um. probably just need some molds, slip, and a Kiln. Also, three mexicans with knowledge of Aztek pottery techniques. One of them named Quantablo.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

search for my post on how i ordered some 100% clay chips from pokerchips.com ... it has pix.
whoever told you "composite" chips are better is full of horse shit. composite means PLASTIC, usually with a chunk of metal inside. they are crap.
as for manufacturing clay chips by yourself, good luck with that. you will need a furnace and a compression mold system that can apply something like 10,000 pounds of force per square inch.
it's easier to order them from pokerchips.com. and at only $1 a chip, much cheaper too.

He probably meant clay composites, not just composites. If really being technical about it, all "clay" chips produced today are composite because they use ceramic variants now for the exact reason that pure clay doesn't have durability. Even the chips used in casinos are typically replaced after only a few years because of wear.
Of course, now the term "clay composite" means other non-ceramic material included in the chip (typically, injection-molded with some other plastics or synthetic material). Clay composite chips that I've played with vary widely in quality, although obviously less so than plastic composite quality. While I tend not to like any clay composite chip that is based around a metal insert, several major casinos do actually use high quality metal insert clay composites, and they are difficult to distinguish from compression-molded ones.
Nothing is going to beat the "pure clay" (or should I simply say, "non-composite") chips, though.
