Went to tunica over the weekend and played at Gold Strike in 3 of their freezeout tourney's. Around 40 people in each event. Paid 5 places in first tourney and....I went out 6th. With 7 left i was 2nd short stack and shoved pre with 77. A big stack called and the short stack shoved behind. Short stack showed QQ and big stack showed A8 and spiked an A.

Second tourney i built a pretty good stack early and went completely card dead. managed to steal a few blinds but ended up busting out 1 from the final table.

Third tourney I played really well. Managed to pull off a couple of bluffs. (favorite hand was when I got a guy to fold trip jacks because he thought he had a bad kicker, he showed me his kicker and he had me beat) Made it to final table and blinds were about 600/1200. i was on the button with AJ. I had about 15,000 stack. Two very big stacks at table. Big stack was in cut off and limped, he had been playing a lot of crap and i had about zero fold equity. I raise to 5,000 with AcJc. Flop came 8TQ with one club. Big stack put me all in. I tanked and went through some of the thought processes that i learned here on FTR. I called and he shows KJ. His open ended straight draw catches a 9 on the river so i bubble out of this one also.

All n all i had a great time and for only my second attempted at live poker i thought it went pretty well. Any advice on how to bust the bubble.

You just got steal like crazy on the bubble. Take advantage of this time when everyone is afraid of busting.

I figured the blind stealing was it but i had crappy position. The biggest stack acted right before me and the second biggest stack was two to my left so i would be stealing his blinds and any steal attempt would have almost certainly been called. THAT's ok, I definitely had a TAGG rep in each tourney and I had a couple of reg's talk to me afterwards and compliment me on a few hands. Made me feel pretty good.
