i have a friend who is 48 years old. he's been playing live cash at 2/5 up to 10/20 (if he can find it) for 25 years. he's a very smart, winning player who at one time made his entire living off of poker. now it's only part of his income. i don't know if he is wealthy... but he is certainly well off.
he says unequivocally... online players haven't a clue. he says he sits with them all the time and crushes them by taking advantage of their mistakes.
he also said... live 1/2 NL is pretty much unbeatable because there are 5 people in every pot and no one ever folds. LOL!
i've heard that this is a prevalent assumption live players make about online players. why?
maybe i should show him the 2+2 thread about the 10/20 live cash player who took a prop bet from his friend ($30 to 40K in 365 days) and can't beat 25NL online.

guys he's just looking to complain about taking coolers/beats
he'll continue to be the type of poker player we all love, the one that isn't any good but thinks he is, and slowly donates to the regulars.

Because he doesn't understand what they're doing I assume. Lots of live players still think poker is about making a hand and then betting it, and everyone who does anything different is an idiot.
Got a link to that 2+2 thread?

Yep, that's been my experience walking into any casino and listening to the table talk from the "regulars".

well just imagining the crazy variance at such a game, and considering the tiny (compared to online) number of hands dealt per hour, and how long it would take to get a meaningful sample size, if he's losing short-term then he may very well come to this conclusion!

500nl live is softer than 50nl online in my experience. unless you're on a really, really good 50nl table.

I dont see online cash games getting much harder, they are played at such a high level.
Without careful game selection these days its very hard to be a constant winner above 2/4 imo
