Hi,
I'm from the UK but am meeting a friend in L.A. in November and then travelling to Las Vegas for a week.
I was wondering if someone could give me some info please?
Firstly, I'm only staying a day in Los Angeles as I've been told there isn't much to see.
Secondly, I'd be grateful for some opinions on Vegas as I've never been there. I'm hoping to enter a few NLHE Tournaments (max £50 buy-ins if possible!) and also Vegas away from the gambling (food, drink, clubs, women!)
Thanks

1st off, there are a few things to see in L.A. Sorry, but you've been misinformed.
2nd. I haven't played much poker in Vegas but I went there in July and I had a good time playing at the Sahara. They have a daily $60+3 R&A tourney at 10am. The rebuy/add on is only $20. A tip: You can buy in late (anytime before the 11am break). This will allow you to avoid the low blind levels if you are inclined to do so/hung over. That was the lowest buyin tourney I found there and we had about 8 tables on the Saturday I was there (winner got about $1800).
Then, I played a pretty soft $100 NL ring game at the Tropicana - the hotel sucked but the game was pretty easy to camp and still get action.
That's about all I know about Vegas poker. At your stakes you'd probably be better off just staying in L.A. and playing at one of the many world-famous cardrooms there.

Check out www.allvegaspoker.com, for an extensive review of all the Las Vegas poker rooms, as well as up to date information about which games they spread, tournaments, and lots more.
I found the site very useful in planning where to play on my last trip to Las Vegas.
