I just ordered a chip set for an upcoming home game. It came with a button (like the dealer button) that says kill. What is this for?
Stakes: Playing $0.10/$0.25 NL

I just recently played in a Casino in AZ, and they had a kill button and also a splash pot.

The kill button was kinda neat, just a little different game, but I can imagine it's -EV

The splash pot was nice: when ever the football team scored on tv, they would throw $100 in chips on the table, and whoever wins the hand wins all the money.

kingnat is an unknown quantity at this point
There has got to be a bit a strategy that can be exploited in this situation as well, as the table (in my limited experience) typically tightens up in kill pots. I would guess something like the following:

If you have the Kill Button in early position... raise that shit up(!) with a HUGE range.. Make people pay to play with you... By contrast, if you are in late position and facing a raise.. good/decent hands should be re-raised to isolate, but facing a raise in late position I would think it's very common (and incorrect) to try to chase pots with marginal hands since you already have double the usual BB in the pot.

I'm curious what experienced/intelligent players have to say... *calling Fnord, calling Fnord*
So you click their picture and then you get their money?
