Is anyone at FTR a dealer who is familiar with the "Poker Peek" cards mentioned in this article? Is this some cool new design that everybody is going to want to use in their home games by Christmas?

Here they are, I found them on ebay. Very interesting design, I can see how they might catch on. I think I might make a bid.

I don't like the looks of them at all. Are normal cards hard to read or something?

Very interesting! And I guess I was wrong about them being KEM cards... I just assumed they would use KEM's at the WSOP. Those poor dealers might go mad shuffling cardboard for seven days.

I would have posted a link, but this was just an auction and they expire after time. Just search "poker peek" on ebay and it should take you straight to them. That's how I found them.

I like the design. They are something new and that's hard to come by when it comes to cards. It's unique to something you would need in a poker game. I might buy them and use them in a few home games, but until Kem comes out with a set, I don't see them taking the place of my current Kems, for the same reason ChezJ said the dealers would hate them, shuffling bicycles can get painfull after four hours.
"But they were suited?!?! You idiot!!"

Well, I went ahead and got a set of those "pro peek poker" cards on ebay. I'm going to take them to my next home game and give them a try. I will let you know how they play.

Anyone else make any bids? I tried to get them a little cheaper than the buy it now option, but someone "swooped" in and out bid me with one second left. Lucky bastard saved 6 cents.

Well, got my cards in the mail today. They are pretty cool, although they are still paper. The insert cards says they are heavier to give them a more "premium feel". I scanned the insert card so you guys could read it as well as the ace of spades. Looking forward to using them in my next home game and seeing how they hold up and get some more opinions, I'll keep you all posted. If there are any other specific cards anyone wants to see, let me know and I'll scan them in. Hope you guys can read this.

i think USPC patented the design so it's not likely that copag will do it. maybe kem though, since USPC owns them.

wait a minute... i just re-read the original press release and it says the following:

...USPC will introduce the Poker Peek face style and a special Bicycle-inspired card-back design printed on the company's KEMĀ® brand card stock - widely considered the world's finest playing-card material - at the 2007 World Series of Poker Presented by Milwaukee's Best Light.

so they do already exist as kems... just apparently not the ones on ebay.

sorry to bump.

they used the KEM-branded cards for the first 2 days at this year's WSOP then they ditched them because the 6 and the 9 cards were so confusing on the board. also, they misspelled the commissioner's name on the back. lol. apparently they are no longer in production, and hence are collector's items now.

Copag and Modiano have come out with their own versions of the dual-index style cards, which apparently have less of a problem with the 6/9 cards.

I'm new to these card brands but since reading this post and searching ebay I've come across the copag, modiano, KEM WSOP rejects and Bicycles for auction on Ebay. I'm gonna try the modiano's and see how they are. I'll post what I think but A) it'll be a bit and B) I've never used anything except the local ex-casino hole punched cards and I have no clue if those are any good or not.

CaraGails.com (sells on eBay as well) has a good selection of all these cards (KEM, Copag, etc).

Used them in a home game a couple of days ago and ditched them after a few hands aswell, they are too confusing on the board, they were cluttered and hard to see
