I am planning on purchasing two decks of these cards tomorrow. For $50 CDN for two decks, it's a little steep. Is it worth it? I'm sick of my dog-eared 10 of spades, etc. and i figure a little luxury is probably worth it. Are KEM cards worth the money, or should I buy a deck of bicycles and then blow the rest on poker?
If anyone in Toronto is interested, the place I've found that sells KEMS is "Toys, Toys, Toys" - Yonge in between Eglinton and Lawrence, across from Sporting Life.

I paid 60$ for 2 decks of Kems in a games shop here in Van, about 8 decks left for sale in the city now, mine are bridge size but still 1000 times better than the shit cards I used to use.

If you want to save a few bucks, look into Copags, they are very nearly as nice and about half the price. KEM's are still just that little bit better, but I'm very happy with my Copags.

KEM Cards are very durable. They're worth the extra money.

I tell you. I'm surprised that the value of KEM's are even a question. I really and honestly don't think I've ever encountered one person who has had a bad thing to say about KEM's when I've used them in my home games. I always get complimented and asked where they can get some.
It's too bad that KEM is going through all that turmoil. I guess if you can't beat them. Buy them out. (*U.S. Playing Card*)

No. Go with Copag. I have used both. Kems are better but not by that much. (The designs of copag are also less cool). I dunno, I guess Kem is the best. But Copag is a very good playing card.
I was going to get my brother 2 decks of Kems for christmas, but was shocked by the prices. I did some research on 2+2 and the general sentiment was that Copags were just as good.

I got a 2-deck set of Copags for Christmas and have played about 10 times with them since I got them. I absolutely love them. But I've always wanted a set of KEMs because of all the positive feedback from friends and research on the Internet. So, I bought a 2-deck set of KEMs on eBay and have played once with them. I have to agree that the KEMs have a better feel to them. But if price is a concern, I'd have to say go with the Copags. There is a noticeable difference, but not enough for me to pay double or more for the KEMs.

I see a lot of the KEMS and am disappointed at the recent quality. Maybe US Playing cards will have better quality when they take full control of the production.
Copag and Gemacos are great. I personally have them all in my collection. Copags are a great bargain. I use them over my Kems and my Gemaco plastic decks.
