So just sat down, 1-1 blinds £200max buyin NL. I bought in with £100.
First hand I'm dealt J6o in the BB, flop comes AJ6 and I lose my stack to AJ. nice start...
I make a visit to the cash machine, sit back down in MP and look down at

One limper ahead of me, I raise it to £5.
Guy who just stacked me the previous hand flat calls, BB calls, limper calls.
Flop comes
BB leads for £20.
Hero?
edit: I'll also note that I don't have reads on BB (this is my second hand) but i have an inkling that the guy who stacked me before and now has position on me is loose, aggressive. he has a huge stack, and seems like the type that likes to just see every flop.

Raise more pre, I don't know how your game plays but in my $1-$2 games, preflop raises of $20-$25 or more are not uncommon...with a hand like JJ it helps to narrow the field.

yeah, i think you're right that I have to raise it up to maybe 10bb with hands like that when I want to thin the field.

Yea you got to raise to protect that hand from getting eaten up by those big stacked players.
Raise it up!
