    Default Was I unethical here?

Final table of a local €55 tournament. On the flop of K86 I shove and the opponent (the only one left in the hand) thinks for a long time. Suddenly he turns around his 99 to see my reaction. My reaction is to demand his hand be folded. Floor is called, she rules against me saying he can still call or fold as he wants. He gladly calls. I show KK. I'm accused of being a jerk. What do you think?

    nice

Your line worked perfectly. You induced a call, which is exactly what you wanted. I will definitely use this bluff now if I get the chance.

If you didn't make any personal comments about the Villain, then you weren't a jerk. Let it go.

I don't see why your line is any worse than his. He tried to manipulate a reaction, so did you. You won that little battle.

    Plus its funny.

Demand is probably a strong reaction. But calling the floor over when someone breaks the rules is ridic standard.

nh! at first i thought you slow rolled him, but then i decided to read better. probably i see slow rolls everywhere 'cause I got slow rolled recently by the host of a home game, and got me livid enough to make me leave the game immediately.

honestly i think it's fine. he tried to exploit you by up-turning his hand and in the process opened himself up to exploitation and got owned accordingly. nh

It's no different to saying to the dealer "That's a call, right?" and reaching slowly for your cards, if you want villain to fold.

He wants a read off you by showing his cards, you tricked him into making the move you wanted him to make. Dumbass should just fold his nines and no-one even knows what he had. What you did was no more unethical than showing your cards while the hand is live imo.

    Well played sir.

Lol, nice. It's not unethical because of lolpoker. Whatever's within the rules is totally ethical.

I personally wouldn't do this at my casino because people are already looking for an excuse to hate that young crazy agressive person who's ruining the game by not letting anyone see the flop. It just doesn't feel worth it for me, but that's up to you whether it's worth taking that risk or not for however many tourney chips you got.

I would totally do this somewhere I don't frequent, though, especially against someone who was annoying me. I lie about everything when I'm the table from what I had last hand to what I think the Phillies chances of trading Cole Hamels is; the entirety of our existence at the casino is to trick people into thinking we don't have it when we do and vice versa.

I like lying to people. Someone starts waa waa in the chat bar about how the fish hits a two outer on the river, I pipe up with a "actually one outer, I folded the other nine" even though I didn't, in the hope it tilts the fuck out of him. It's worked before.
