I just ordered these KEM cards:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6114463089
...and poker chips:
http://www.pokerchipmart.com/SpecialBuy_SA600SS135.html
With the new 13.5g weight (most sold now are 11.5g), these chips should satisfy my preference for really heavy chips.
I can't wait!

I bought the exact same kem cards a few month ago. I LOVE THEM, even when i am not playing i love to shuffle them. But i paid like 75 cents less than you so HA.(kidding). Yeah and for a second i thought you were getting riped off with the chips until i realized you got the 13.5 kind. I have never played with the 13.5 are they a lot different than the 11.5. Worth the price premium?

And if you string yourchips together they'll make a nice bullet proof vest.

Yeah, the 11.5g chips dropped in price by almost half when the new 13.5g chips came out. The new 13.5g chips now cost about what their 11.5g counterparts did a year ago.
Are they worth the price? I don't know. I'll let you know once I've tried them.
But I really like HEAVY chips, so I'm sure I'll like them.

The KEM cards and the 13.5g poker chips were a hit at our weekly poker game last week!
The 13.5g chips are a bit pricey, but what they don't tell you very clearly in the description are that these have much more real clay content (might actually be all clay on the outside) than the 11.5g chips that everyone has. It's still got the metal insert, but the outside looks, feels and sounds different from the 11.5g "clay composite" chips. They're definitely a lot more like the real casino chips in texture and look. They don't have the "plasticky" glossy finish like the clay composites. They've got a dull, matte finish... like clay. I think the lack of a glossy coating make them a little more vulnerable to scuffing against hard, rough surfaces, but they certainly feel great.
One thing I did notice, though, is that the printing of the marks on the chips were not totally consistent. And some excess slivers of clay (from the mold) are still hanging from some of the chips. Minor things, really, that I probably only noticed more on these since they're mine and I've looked them over so thoroughly. These are, after all, manufactured in giant volumes in China (just as all the 11.5g chips are), so not every chip is going to be perfect.
Anyway, everyone loved the chips. Two guys that have the 11.5 clay composite chips commented how cool these 13.5 clay chips were. One actually said he likes these better. The price was worth it for me. I really like these.
And the KEM cards are dreamy. The much-beloved Bicycle cards feel bulky and clumsy after having played with KEM cards.

I'm telling you. There is nothing like shuffling a deck of KEM's. Talk about consistent riffles, and the material makes it slide together as if someone shot some astroglide in between.
And when they get a little dirty. Just wet wipe them down.
Still not feeling those chips though, but if you're happy. Then I'm happy for you. :P
If you're wondering. I use the 9grm. Pro Vegas chips from pokerchipmart. Had 400, but bumped it up to 500 chips.

Hey, I was just wondering about the KEM cards. Are they really worth the price? I might be interested in purchusing a few decks since we go thru regular decks like nothing. How long do they generally last for and do they really not crease in the corners?
thanks

I just got a KEM setup. The cards are great. They shuffle easily and haven't bent with regular use. I guess if you really wanted to you might crease one, but you'd have to try pretty hard to do it. The only complaint I have is the smell, but it's not too bad.
For $20 for two decks, it's worth a shot, don't you think?

A friend of mine says he's had his two decks for 4 years now. The print is showing some wear, but they have no creases or cracks. I bought some a few weeks ago. Every game I take them to, where they have not seen a deck, everyone loves them. They are easily worth the normal $24 price.

Is that guy still part of the forum??

Personally i don't know if i would recommend using them. Once you start normal cards make you want to cry. Sort of crack it awesome when you have it but when you don't everything seems dull( maybe the analogy is too strong but eh)
