Hey All.

Anyone care to add any ideas please feel free.

My buddies and I play tournament style and here are a couple rules we play by to add some excitement.

1. El Diablo rule

Whenever someone wins a hand with a set of sixes (666) we call "El Diablo" for the next hand. The next hand is dealt by the same guy and everyone is required to put the Big Blind in the pot. Everyone is dealt 2 cards and then they are flipped over pre-flop. There is no betting for the entire hand. The community cards are turned and whoever has the best hand wins. It can be very exciting if the blinds are high. Sometimes the El Diablo knocks someone out and sometimes it saves somebodies a$$.

2. The Big Hand rule

Whenever two people play the same hand (at least trips or better) to a showdown and one guy has the other guy beat then we declare "Big Hand". For example two guys have trips and bet them all the way to the river but one guy has the other guy beat. The important part that makes it a Big Hand (by our definition) is one guy shows his hand and the second guy shows that he has the same hand but better. If the first guy to flip has the other guy beat and the second guy decides to muck then we don't call it a Big Hand. It could also happen with straights, flushes, full houses, etc. These are usually big pots, hence the BIG hand.

The next hand everyone puts the big blind in preflop. There is no more betting preflop and everyone gets to see the flop. We play the hand normally from there with action to the small blind. We also play these hands with a novelty deck of cards that are like four times the size of reqular cards. Now that's a BIG HAND!

These are really fun because the pot can get huge with everyone seeing the flop and a fair amount to play for.

Just some ideas to add some excitement.

Sounds fun.

We played a game once called twoosies choosies.

It's a standard 5 card draw hand. All 2s are wild. Also, if you have a 2, another card of your choice is wild.

Example, my hand is

You can choose to have your Ts and 2s wild to give you 5 of a kind Aces.

Usually a straight flush or better wins.

We usually don't play with the extra rules. We have fun and take plenty of shots when we play and chat and have lots of fun, but we want to keep the game play fair.

We all have delusions of grandure and we are just practicing now to get ready for taking the step and becoming a grinder in Vegas.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.
