I found a poker table that I love which I would like to make over at www.pcpotato.com (links to each of the pics below). I have no clue as to how he did the railing for this table. If anyone either a) knows the guy, or b) knows how he did it, please drop me a line!
Otherwise, how would you guys go about making this table?
Thanks!
David

I like the way that table looks. It gives me ideas for the ones I am building. Now...if I could only get to building them rather than continually adjusting my plans....
I wonder about the upholstery on the rail. That must be a real pain in the but with the chip trays AND drink holders.
Hmmm....Ideas-a-poppin now....

I've been thinking about building a poker table for a lil while now. Just curious as to estimate on how much one of these would cost for the materials? Any ideas?

i'd say around 100 bucks. You're gonna need to get felt(25-50) a table(hopefully you have one), 2 sheets of 4x8 plywood(20-40), adhesive spray(3), staple gun(again hope you have one)+staples, 1/4" foam for felt padding(10), 1" for the rail padding(10), vinyl(20?) I built myself a table topper for 8 with hex ends and stained hardwood on top for about 100 dollars. works for me since we often play in different peoples houses so ability to travel works best. If i were making my own, i'd go with a padded railing with hardwood rail inside of that, dedicated cup holders and portable plastic chip trays.

Yes yes, a staple gun is very useful in constructing poker tables. If you dont have one i might know a couple places you could get one.

So, a guy named Staple Gun talking about staple guns. How odd is that? Weird. Are you a staple gun distributor or something?
