Here's something I've noticed in our casual, small-stakes home games. People tend to get chatty after they've folded out, and while they seem to understand that saying what they folded is considered bad, they do react to the cards.
Here's an example:
I get A8s and put money in to see the flop
Another guy folds out.
The flop comes Q86.
The guy goes "Doh!"
Now I'm thinking - okay, he threw away 86 or something like that which is normally unplayable but happened to hit, so my chances of getting another 8 are down even more.
Similarly the flop comes all diamonds, the guy reacts the same way, so I have to wonder if he tossed diamonds, so my chances of being flushed are down.
Do you guys see this kind of thing? Am I over-thinking it to try to integrate that data into what I do?

Note: new guy and very open to constructive criticism, so go ahead and weigh in! I'm here to learn.

use all the information available to you to play your hand. if i have AQ, the flop is KKQ, and someone mutters "DAMN!" then i will raise that flop with confidence.

In the casino here people that are tilting pretty bad seem to get a "poor me" attitude going and complain rather visibly after the flop comes out and they have already folded.

I usually get on people when they do this. They don't seem to understand that they are systematically eliminating possibilities by eluding that they caught a big piece of the board. Like ChezJ said though, use it to your advantage. Also, take it a step further and look around during every hand to detect subtle dissapointment on the faces of people. This is a huge advantage. The board comes out K22 and someone rolls their eyes or looks away while holding their face, the community might as well be one king at that point.

It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.

I always react at the flop, sometimes like I flopped a monster when I wouldn't have had anything. Don't take everything at face value.

Heh...I'm sure I was blowing off a fair bit of steam when I folded 4-6 suited and flopped trips and rivered a boat, only to get dealt 3-8o the next hand, throw it away, and watch a boat flop up.

^ Well no offence but thoughs odds are rare and ususally won't happen. You made the right decision to fold.
Yeah I have seen alot of people react in this manner of saying "gosh I'm dumb I should have played that", however I've never thought anything of it rather than to say shutup b/c you didn't so why worry about it. I also saw this is the tournament of party league poker i was in today. Though I was winning anyways I will now add that into the outs counts ec.
