Made my first trip to a B&M this weekend and thought I would come report.

Hollywood is a riverboat casino, Aurora is in the southwest part of the greater Chicago area.

The poker room has 6 tables and they offer 5/10 and 10/20 LHE. I found the competition to be mixed on the 5/10 - sometimes play was tight with opps that seemed to know what they were doing, and sometimes things were loose and fishy and the money flowed.

They have a NLHE tournament every Wednesday, an 80-player MTT. Signups start at 09:30 and they randomly pick a starting point in the list and go down the list from there to select the 80 entrants. I believe the entry is $180 and they pay the final table.

On Sundays, they run single table SNGs with a $90 entry. Pay the top two, starting chips 1500, blinds start at 25/50 and go up every 15 min. They only run one tourney at a time, with the 5/10 and 10/20 going on at the other tables.

For the last few weeks they have been running WPT "subqualifiers" on Sundays. Keeping the $90 SNG format as above, 2nd gets $250 and winner gets a $500 entry into a 80-player MTT tourney in March. Top prize there is a $26K entry into a WPT event at the Bellagio, and I think they pay out cash on FT.

I played one of the SNGs, came in 3rd. Spent most of my time on the 5/10 tables and did pretty well. Came out up about 500 for the weekend. One special note - 18 hours of poker, and my AA count was exactly zero, bleah. Fun trip overall, I'm probably going back next weekend to take another shot at the SNG qualifiers.

I've played here a few times. i also believe they've added some 20/40 tables as well.

The 5/10 and 10/20 action usually have a main table with a couple feeders and last time I was there i 'believe' they had capacity for 9 tables.

The 5/10 game was pretty loose as can be expected and the 10/20 game was nothing too spectaculer. The players are generally no where near as good you would find at a 3/6 full table on party. I plan on sitting there for a couple days next week for spring break before I head to vegas.
