Argument between my real life friend and I.

True or False?

It can't be too good because you're giving away information about your mindset. However, in some cases it can be good etiqute to negotiate when a game breaks.

It depends whether you have arranged for a period of time that you have to wait after announcing you're finished playing.

You can also use it to your advantage and give the illusion of being very frantic, passive, or whatever you feel would get inside your opponents heads.

I think its a huge tell...sounds like a sore point though IMHO. I would set a time or break point before we start and then annouce I gotta go at that time. Then cash in and be gone.
Play Smart. Change Stratagies. Play the Streaks. Quit while you are ahead.

See Donk bet
See Donk raise
See Donk get lucky on the river and bust your AA with a 27 off suit
See Donk get shot in a live poker room
Dont be a DONK!

It pleases the poker gods: at a 1/2 game in Vegas last month, the guy to my left announced before the deal: "This will be last hand". He hit a royal flush on the turn, stacked someone, and won a high hand bonus.

True to his word, he then left the table. Sick.
