Recently I participated in what was supposed to be a friendly game of Flop. turn, river. The host kept changing the rules on the bury card for each step. You could choose to bury a card or not. It was up to you, when you dealt. This one hand had a very large pot, ($400.00)it was on the river, the dealer was to my right, he had been turning cards for each step thus far. He gave me my 4th King for 4 of a kind! He continued on to the next player, then the next, who happend to be the host. He , (the host) looked at his cards and then called a miss deal. I was naturally upset. He threw his cards in and said the pot rolls to the next hand. Now, even more upset I objected. My thoughts were, since the cards were dealt and no real foul was committed continue dealing. Everyone agreed, except the host. When he said to roll the pot I called bullshit, eveyone should get there money back if anything, not roll to the next hand like a progressive pot. As you can imagine it got exciting. So rather than get into a fight I pulled my chips cashed in and left. Wheteher or not he wanted to roll the pot. Please give me some guidance on this. I realize house rules are all different and everyone should agree before hand what thye are. Which I thought we did, especially on the bury card, he clearly made it optional if you dealt. Someone please e-mail me and let me know.

Rolling the pot is ridiculous. I have never heard of anything like that. Money was put into the pot based on the caliber of the hand the player is holding. Then, after a lot of money has been bet, someone wants to misdeal and roll all the cash to the next hand? That is ludicrous.
If you read over Robert's Rules you will notice that prior to betting occurring every effort is made to 'correct' a dealer mistake. After money is bet, the effort is around standardized ways to fairly live with the dealer's mistake. By fairly, the solutions typically preclude the possibility of knowing any card a player is holding; though you may know that there is a certain card they are not holding.
Looking at your cards and then trying to call a misdeal is angle shooting, pure and simple.
