My twin brother picked up this tell from one of my maniac friends. I'll give you a hand that describes it.
I was on the button 4 handed the maniac raised 5x the bb, my brother called and i called with JTs the flop comes a AQ3 the maniach goes immediately all in. Key word IMMEDIATELY!! This was the tell, When he acted fast, he always had nothing, when he acted slow, he always had a great hand.
My brother folded and after thinking about it for five minutes, talking to the table about how i knew he had crap i called. He had 42o, i won the pot.
I have a feeling this tell may be general for all maniacs...
P.S. don't comment on whether my play on that hand was good or bad, my read was great so stfu.

If people go all-in quick they are acting as if they got a great hand and can't wait to go all-in with it. They are acting strong when they are weak. Good tell.

As i have said with all tells it depends on the player a thinking player might try this as a bluff the old "strong is weak, weak is strong" thing...

You must have had a really good read to call with Jack high. A lot of 'nothings' beat your nothing.

Along with the "INSTA"-push... what's your feel for the BET THE POT button on Party NL tables? I'd like some expert opinions on this...
I don't have a strong feel for what that means.. I'm sure it's not a monster... more likely top pair.. or something...
Thoughts?

I dont know for if it applies to NLHE, but I play a lot of PLO and if someone doesnt bet the pot, and I have anything, Ill attack him mercilessly and most of the time he folds.
I almost always bet the pot. if Im not, IM probably trying to look weak, or trying to make you think that Im trying to look weak. The later is rare tho, and only against players that I know they could notice this. Im so tricky sometimes

In live games, a key tell for me against maniacs is the time it takes to bet. I see a lot of loose players bet quickly with nothing, but when they hit something significant there is that small delay before doing something.
Do any of you see that from the maniacs?
