Opponent has ~$1600, I cover.

Same LAgg from this hand:
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ck-t81786.html

Lagg Opens for $55 (almost any 2 cards)
Tightish player calls.
I call with :Ah: :Jh: from the BB

3 to the flop for ~$160

I check, Lagg bets $120, BN folds, I check-raise to $400, LAgg calls

~$960 in the pot

I bet $600, LAgg quickly calls "careful there, this is real money" (he's weak)

over 2k in the pot

I move in for an effective ~$500

How'd I do?

I think the check raise and bet the turn is a good play. The amount to bet on the turn should have been all in I think. Though you could have saved some money.
Sometimes I'll save the bluff on the river when I play a loose opponent. A loose aggressive player may fold but getting 5-1 on the river probably priced him in to a busted flush draw or a bluff or a weaker pair. there lots of hands to put him on that would warrant a call on the river and you probably would have been paid off.
Don't knock on deaths door... ring the bell and run! Death hates that LOL.

push after the turn.. you played it how many pros play it.. a similar hand happend in the europe wsop with Marco Traniello bluffing almost his entire stack off with a river bet when his flush missed against Annette Obrestad.

i guess this is kinda scary and maybe you're trying to level him but

c/c, bet, bet

c/r more, shove

c/r less, bet, shove

all seem better. you could also attempt a super awesome double c/r which also leaves us a cheaper river bluff if he checks behind.

Yeah, I didn't quite account for all of the money when I sized my flop raise. When I counted the money on the turn I figured I'd make it look like I was grilling him up.

The flop is drawy enough that CRing more & shoving turn is perfectly acceptable. I prefer b/3bet if you think the LAG will raise as that is certainly the more likely flop line for a set on this drawy of a board.
I think you are getting called down light by the river since he is much more likely to have a 7 and you are repping a thin range that continues to value bet after the turn card. You think he can put many, if any, 7s in your range?
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.

Between my image and the overall passive play in this game (after the first bet goes in), I hate to bet here hoping to get raised.

I called from the BB. That said, I don't think his thought process works like that.
