9-handed table, same game
Hand 1:
UTG is an older guy on a serious heater. BTN is a young typical LAG.
UTG ($1,100) limps
I'm in MP ($250) with and call
MP2 ($300) calls
Button ($300) calls
SB completes and BB checks
Pot $15
Flop:
UTG bets $15, I raise to $40, MP2 calls, Button raises to $90. UTG calls
Hero???
later
MP, guy who's running the game, seems fairly normal/solid and incapable of making exotic plays, raises to $10
I'm on bTN with the same hand, and call
It's HU
Pot: $24
Flop:
MP bets $20, I call
Turn:
MP bets $35, Hero??

Not folding either hand.
Looks like a blocking bet in hand 2 and I'd raise there a bunch with some other holdings I'd rather turn into a bluff.

how bad is this:
I folded hand 1 (with the SF possibilites, likelihood of other spades out and possible made flush already out, I felt I only had about 5 clean outs)
I shoved hand 2 (he had about $180 left, my image was pretty scary tight by this point)

don't like the raise in hand 1: When you get called your overcard outs are unlikely to be good - you've got a chance to go mw with worse flushdraws that will call at least one bet when you hit, and you'll hate life when you get raised. You certainly have the implied odds to just call.
As played - if you have ~6 outs, you need to make $41 when you hit your flush. I don't see how you can fold.
hand 2: I wonder what a normal/solid range is from MP in a 10-handed game is that you can call with ATo. I would fold it against a fairly laggy range, but I could be wrong.

oskar, thanks for the feedback. Just confirming that you guys agree with everyone else -- that I'm fkin crazy for folding the flop in Hand 1. I don't think I've ever done it for such a small portion of my stack, and I'm not sure when I ever will again.
The action in the hand totally spooked me, and I couldn't figure out how many clean outs I had. It seemed extremely likely that someone held a 6 or 7 of Spades, in addition to at least one other high spade being out, with a good chance of something like a JT spades or QT spades already having made its hand and denying me more outs.
I can't say it was logical, it just made me extremely uncomfortable.
Hand 2 -- he was opening 20-25% when he wasn't UTG...more importantly, he seemed to play predictably and was easy to read postflop.

I wouldn't sweat a call or fold in hand 1. It's a gamble gamble kind of spot.
You're right about having dirty outs and if you hit the turn you're probably going to have to sweat some card.
That said, for god sakes don't fold a draw like that face up. Make sure those cards hit the muck and not a soul you play with knows you'll fold a draw ever.
