I am going on vacation soon and one of the stops is a casino. At first I was gonna stick to blackjack/nothing while the Mrs. blows the rest on slots. But then I noticed they have $40 SnG's and remember hearing that typically live games tend to be soft at lower stakes.

Ive got about a week to change gears from micro FR games to SnG live but BR isn't an issue. Do you think it would be worth it to try out a live game? Or am I wasting money and should just pass for the time being?

If you got the dough to blow, try it out. The $1/2 games are so ridiculously fishy, especially on the weekends. Not sure about SNGs but I can't imagine a $40 tournament being any less juicy. But with a SNG you have to fight the blind structure too, so I'd check on that before you register.

Its your money, use it when you need it.

Ideally, youd have read a bunch about sng strategy, know how blinds affect things, know how live players might betray information, know how to hide that info from others, know proper ettiqute, know live casino rules, and a bunch of other stuff before going...but otherwise it costs you 40 to do something you like to do instead of being bored out of your mind. Just do it mang.

Oh but no matter what...read the casinos rules... things like the difference between calling and raising when using too few or too many or to large/small of a chip(s); things like when your hand is considered dead, forward motion rules, and other such things.

40 sng is gonna have a super fast structure, so hopefully you're good at push/fold
