well i just got back from my first non online poker experience, went to my local casino (casino Rama). I opted to play the lowest limit they had there ( 2/ 5). I usually play NL when i play online so it took me a while to get used to the limit but i feel i caught on alright. I find that with limit people play some seriously bullshit cards. for instance this was the last hand i played and it left a somewhat sour taste in my mouth.

im BB and get 10-7 offsuit, goes around and we end up 5 handed with no raises so i check it.

flop comes up 10, 2, 7 rainbow
checks around to me i bet 2, two people call it two people fold.

turn comes up 2

checks around to me again, i bet 5

guy beside me folds other guy calls

river comes up 9

guy checks

i bet 5

guy calls

shows me his 2-5 offsuit for trip deuces to beat my two pair.

this pissed me off cause i dont know about you guys but if im not on a blind im nto playing 2-5off. and with the cards that came out on the flop i find it even more odd that he called me down with it.

are these the kind of hands i should start expecting people too play in low limit games or what?

besides that hand i had a great time, bought in with 60$ and walked away with 180$ after about 2 and a half hours.

cant wait to go back.

Stop being such a silly rock and realize where that $180 came from!

Next time someone gives you such a nasty river suck-out give them a high-five! Celebrate suck-outs, play up your own. Try to make them feel good playing like that.
