    Default Evaluating Tournament Structures

I'm gearing up for a trip to Las Vegas in a few weeks. I'm not playing in the WSOP, but I'm guessing that the event will draw alot of poker action and fill out some of the other summer series going on in town. Here are some of the tournaments I've identified that I might want to play.

Caesars Palace Las Vegas | Poker Room | Summer Mega Stack | $100 + $20 Events

My question is, what do you look for in a tournament structure? Which of these three would you recommend?

When are you going, Ghaleon? I will be there just after the 4th of July weekend.

I like to evaluate them by seeing how much play I get before my starting stack is at a shoveable M of say M = 10.
    Caesars 23% vig w/dealer toke, M=10 in 3hrs.
WSOP 17% vig, M=10 in 2.5hrs. The ante really comes into play here and makes stealing more profitable & brings on a faster shovefest once M's get low.
Venetian 6.5% vig w/dealer toke, M=10 in 4hrs. Vig seems low, but DSE III page says 3% vig + 0.5% for overall points winner.
As to be expected the more expensive the tourney the lower the vig & more play before short stacked play occurs.

Check out this forum link for some tourney info in Vegas:

July 6th through the 10th. Planning on playing each of these events at least once, unless there is a compelling reason to focus on just one or two. Also I'm planning on filling in between tournaments with some 1/2, or if things go well some 2/5

Also the small SNG-like daily tournaments at PH, Bally's, and Caesars have been good for me even though the structure sucks. Basically the players in these things are crap tourists who don't understand M and will raise to 3x with only 8x behind and fold to a 3-bet shove with AJo.

Paris is pretty awesome. I've stayed there the last two times I've gone to Vegas. Check out the Burger Brasserie and check out Cafe St Louis for breakfast. They make hasbrowns with prime rib, it's outrageous.

I'm staying at PH, and also plan to play there and at Ballys at night. I think the play is ALOT tougher at PH, but the eye candy walking by the poker room on a constant basis is worth it.

My wife and I usually stay at Ballys and LOVE the Burger Brasserie. They have the best side Caesar salad I have ever had. A blue cheese burger, Caesar salad, onion rings & a Fat Tire. Ooooh, I get hungry just thinking about it. That will be my first dinner as soon as I land.
I usually play at Ballys and love that Fat Tire beer is stocked at all their bars. The wraith that works the night shift is quite good at keeping the drinks coming too: "BEVERAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!" Poker room is always good too.
I also highly recommend eating breakfast on the porch at Mon Ami Gabi if you can get up in time to beat the heat. The people watching is priceless while overlooking the strip at breakfast time. You see everything from vacation joggers to guys so drunk they stop to throw up in the Bellagio fountains during their stumble back to the hotel. My favorite game is pick the hooker from the overnight.
I haven't been to PH's poker room, but I have heard good things about it. I'll probably venture over there and to Aria this trip. MGM properties are nice since the rake is capped at $1 less and they don't usually have a badbeat $1 drop saving you $2 per pot dragged.
Playing live . . . thanks alot Bin Laden.
