I live in philly and I wanna know if anyone has heard about a card game getting busted and what the legal actions were?

I know this is an old post, but this was a huge concern when I was playing private high stakes games. Federal law is very strict on maximum bet amounts, but the main reason for that is so many private gambling games pretty much exist for money laundering purposes (after all, what was Las Vegas itself used for, for so many years). As long as your'e not dealing drugs and using the game to cover it up, or running some other tax evasion schemes, the Feds just won't be interested. I do know of one private game in NYC that was notorious for being a front for some drug dealers, that got busted several years back.

The other thing is obviously not to advertise... no game should be open to the public. Invite-only and you aren't going to attract unwanted attention.
