If you're going to be spending any time at all in the cardroom, and especially if you're thinking extended play (like when you're running good, when the games are juicy, or when you've just got time on your hands) or planning for several consecutive sessions (on a trip, for instance), you'll want to have some supplies with you.

A lot of places give grief about backpacks, so the trip to the cardroom is the one time I use a waistpack because I know that some things are worth having handy. Bringing "stuff" along makes you feel like a girl? Fine, sit there for 24 + hours freezing your ass off, with corpserot breath and a headache and a dead cellphone. Pay $8 for smokes and feel like a turd overall. See how much you enjoy it.

Sunglasses: Your own preference, but as I mentioned in another post, they help keep your eyes fresh, a big plus over long sessions.

Tiger balm or other smelly substance: to wipe on your nostrils and keep yourself from gagging when seated next to pigpen.

Gum/breath mints: To help keep yourself from being "that guy." Just like in grade school - everybody is going to ask you for some.
Could even consider a mini-toothbrush/paste. I often see regular players brushing their teeth, no big deal. They've been there for 2 days and they don't want to be an ogre.

Aspirin: self-explanatory. And, when you've got it, use it. You'll hear dealers and floorpeople complaining out loud about having a headache. Come through for them. Anything you can do to cultivate those relationships (just trust me, they're good to have).

Saline solution/eye drops for contacts: your contacts will dry out in the stale, artificial air, and they will bother you. When the contact pops right out on the table because it dried up, you're screwed. Oh, you found a cocktail waitress w/ saline in her purse? Good, when she finally comes by after her rounds try dousing that crumpled lump of hard plastic and shoving it back into your eye.

Sweatshirt/layers: Casinos have strange ideas about regulating temperature. I think that they keep it cold to keep suckers stimulated. When enough people complain, they overcompensate. It's 85* outside, but inside you'll be freezing in that t-shirt. It's 5* below outside but you're burning up in that sweatshirt you can't peel off because you've got a gravy-stained wife-beater underneath.

Fruit: More a matter of finding it where you can - the snack bar or wherever. Your body will thank you. Bananas will help keep you hydrated in the midst of all the coffee and crap bottled water. Fruit also helps regulate serotonin and other chemicals involved in decision-making and overall equilibrium. I like to put down one of those "green" drinks before I go in to compensate my cells for all of the dead air I'll be breathing. In general though, it's a good idea to eat smaller, lighter meals more often to keep fueled up.

Smokes: If you smoke, bring as much as you think you'll need and more. Casinos charge an arm and a leg and you don't want to waste whatever comps you earn on $8 packs. And nobody likes a bum. You bum one smoke from me, fine. You bug me every time I get up - you're out of luck.

Headphones: Even when the room prohibits headphones during game play, they're nice to have when you're waiting for your game.
Or, if you expect to wait (called ahead to put your name on the list - found out it's an hour + wait), pick up a newspaper. You've already read the latest issue of Card Player 10 x. (Yes, you could check out the games while you wait, but you'll feel like an idiot hovering over the table for 45 minutes).

Cell phone charger. Most places don't mind. They have outlets and as long as there's no cords or wires obstructing walkways, you should be fine. Or just be sensible about your phone. Keep it off during the game when you can't use it anyways.

One other thing -
Comps: Use your comps sensibly. Don't get stuck paying $9 cash for a burger because you burned up all your comps on milkshakes. I like to use comps to "tip" the floor. Since I feel kind of akward giving them $, I just ask if they want a milkshake or something when I make a run. This also helps grease the wheels for using the house phone to call in an order.
