Located in Elizabeth, Indiana, across the bridge from Louisville, KY, I had mixed feelings about this house.

I was there on a Saturday night. The hotel is excellent. Rooms are very nice with comfy beds.

The casino is tiered ala riverboat layout. The poker room is not a room per se but more an area roped and desked off. There are 33 tables. No rake is taken BUT every time there is a dealer change, you put up $6. Dealers changed every 25-30 minutes. You do the math. I had to wait about 45 minutes to get on a table. The atmosphere was better than your unfinished basement but I didn't get a relaxed vibe. A WSOP Circuit event has been yearly scheduled with Men the Master and Vinnie Vinh as past winners. Guess their odds were great here. Play at the table I was at didn't impress me with the exception of a semi-drunk donk regular who kept on straddling from 6 to 10 bones on a 1/2 NL. He would play anything and everything and loved showing his bluffs. There was also a 70 sports betting regular there who was steady and when he was in, you knew he had quality cards.

I guess if I had to I would play there again but it wouldn't excite me. I walked out about $50 up after 2 hours of play. I will say that I played carefully and did spend a good time scoping the suspects out.

wow, $12 an hour, with 2 dealer changes an hour that's not a lot of hands. Is it standard for Caesars to charge hourly rake, or is it just in Indiana? I ask because my local casino is becoming a Caesars and I don't want them to go back to charging hourly rake.

It's an individual thing. Officially, it's $5 rake +$1 for the bad beat jackpot. Incidently, it was hit at a table next to mine that very night!

Don't know for all Caeser's, but at Caeser's Indiana it's just for the NL games I believe. Limit is pot raked(I don't know how much, I don't play limit).

BTW the 1/2NL games are soft as ever, had a nice session Fri night.

I'm game... I live in Louisville only about 35 minutes away so let me know when you're interested and I can probably make it.

I've met elipsesjeff, ihategnomes, pokerfanatic, and mike4066 there before and they might be interested. Also cardsman1992 is only a few hours away and was talking about meeting there sometime.

Ive been playing some at ceasers indiana, and the rake is $6 per half hour. Plus any pot over $20 they take $1 out for the bad beat. There is almost always at least one 1/2 NL table going 24/7, and a 2/5 nl going during weekends, afternoons and evenings. Also a few other games going on demand like stud and PL Omaha. There is usually only one limit table 2-4-4-8, but they will open more if there are enough people on the list, and a 4/8 limit if enough people request it The limit tables are raked a percentage of the pot, which I think is 10% up to a maximum. There are always some regulars there, but there are a huge number of people who are just passing through. Ive played with people from all over. I even played with paul wasicka one night. On weekends I would call ahead and get your name on the wait list so you dont have to wait long when you get there. Call when your about 45 min away should work.
If you have a rewards card, they will comp you $.75/hr. But you have to be proactive and ask the desk person to swipe you in, and out when you leave. If you forget to swipe out, your comp will be lost.
Right now they are redecorating getting ready to change to the horseshoe and have moved the poker tables to the second deck. The worse part is that none of the tables have shufflers (of course most of them were broke anyway) so you lose a few hands waiting for the dealer to shuffle the cards every hand, and to count them every half hour. The new poker room is supposed to be really great with new equipment. Ill let you know.

BTW, the new poker room is scheduled to open by this w/e. I"m going to try to get there Friday night to check it out.

Played some 2/5NL last weekend, there were the usual regualars there but I thought it was pretty beatable.

Edit: wasn't aware of this but apparently the 2/5NL has a nomax buyin. At one point it was nomax and then 1K for awhile.

Bump/update

New poker room is open, casino is now officially a Horeshoe. It's located back on the bottom floor where it was. Much roomier then the temporary spot they had it in. Card shufler are mostly not working but they said would be fixed in a few weeks. Chairs are adjustable and swivel, big improvement. I don't think any of the games have changed though I only play 1/2($300max) or 2/5(nomax) No Limits. The room is basically the same with a few minor cosmetic differences.

Update

Casino recently went to new hours and will only be open 24hrs over the w/e. Otherwise they close at 5am, open at 11am. Not a huge deal but not a good sign.
