I live in Michigan but havn't gotten out to a casino yet (the closest one is about 2 1/2 hours away). Im goin later this year with some buddies and I was wondering if anyone has ever been to any in Michigan. I am thinking about Soaring Eagle casino because I know they have a fairly new poker room. Anyone ever been there?

I was up there a few weeks ago. I played the $1/$3 limit hold'em table. The tables were really soft with lots of limpers, but it took a while to get a seat. This was the first B&M that I had played in, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Overall I had no complaints and left up about $140 bucks for the night.

soaring eagles poker room kinda sucks...they close and open at certain hours meaning long lines and long waits. dont really give anything to players for playing other then normal points wich take forever to earn a meal. plus they seem to be unknowledgeable there and unsure of how to handle some things.

If you want to go somewhere go to greektown in detroit. Easiest poker room ive ever played in my entire life. went to college an hour away and only once did i leave with less then i came with.. you can call ahead and put your name on a list and rarely ever do you have to wait more then 15 minutes when you get there. they have an entire no smoking room and automatic shufflers wich speeds up the action. any player can get a meal ticket if he is at a table to get lunch or dinner.. i think its good for about 8 bucks and gets you a hamburger fries or hotdog/sausage..that kind of stuff.. everyone is really nice and knowledgeable there.

go to detroit..you wont regret it..plus Motorcity casino just opened a card room. havent been yet but you can always check that out too
