I am traveling to Chicago this week for work and will have Saturday night free. I would like to play some poker and was wondering what the "best" poker room is in the area (within a 45 minute drive). Checking the web it looks like Majestic Star is a good place, but would appreciate any advice from people who have played in that vicinity recently and often.
Thanks in advance.

Well, since no one responded, I will respond to myself. I played Saturday night. Received some advice from a friend at work that Majestic Star is probably the best place for that buyin range. He said there were some clubs closer but that the best level of overall play is there. There is also a free bus from Chinatown, which I caught. Then grabbed a ride with someone at the table on the way back.
The had about 25 or so tables, with a 40min-100max buy in, and a $100min-300max buyin. I called ahead and got on the board for the $100 game, but when I got there decide it play the $300.
Pretty good level of play, nice action. Its a full casino as well. I would go there again if I go back.

Do you have anymore details on level of play. When you say pretty good what exactly do you mean?

Good question,
by that I mean, people trying to put me on a hand, rather than just playing what they have, most people at the table playing a good range of hole cards (i.e., mucking a bad ace, etc.), people trying to playing pot odds, people willing to be pushed off hands. Of course, there were a few bad players at the table just gambling, but most people were trying to play poker.
Example,
I end up with TPTK. Someone made it $40 to go, a call, and then a guy ends up raising to $200. Action comes to me and I push on $300, folds around (including the original bettor), next to act wants to let go, but because of the amount in the pot makes the call, the raiser also calls. Both have draws that miss, but made the correct call with the amount in the pot (imho).
