Any of you guys ever have one of these at your home games? I am thinking about having one at my next home game. And if you want to be in the bad beat pot, you chip in an extra amount (so not everyone has to be in the bad beat pot).

Both. Do it everytime you play, but make a criteria for what constitutes a bad beat. Ususally it's 4 of a kind getting beat by a better for of a kind or straight flush.

So if no hand qualifies for the bad beat pot, do you just roll it over to the next week's game?

Most of the casinos around here make the bad beat having Aces over Jacks the minimum bad beat, and you have to use both of your hole cards.

For mine, since it is the first time, I think I am just going to make it the best hand to get beat wins the pot, regardless of what that hand is. If it is too low, I may make a minimum hand the next time, but I don't always have the same people playing so I don't know how I would do the roll over.

Thats kind of hard to keep track of. I like a best hand pot instead, first with Quads or better wins it. Have to play for 5 nights before you are eligable.
I built my own poker table... Check It Out

A local game that I play in has a BBJ, it comes from cashing players out. You only cashout in increments of $5, unless your a cheap punk who throws dollar bills in with your chips to cashout the exact amount. The extra $1-4 goes in the pot. You have to play at least 5 nights before being elligible to win it. The criteria is that you must lose with quads or better.

This pot is now approaching a grand, so the host is thinking of ways to cut it up, ala party style:
50% to the "loser"
25% to the "winner"
25% to the rest of the table
Is that guy still part of the forum??
