DavSimon is an unknown quantity at this point
I am a home game and internet player...I have been very successful over the last couple weeks and have had this trip to vegas planned for some time now. As you can imagine I am a little nervous about sitting down at a "real" table for the first time. My wife and I are staying at Ceasars this time, first I was wondering if they have a decent poker room.
My other question refers to tipping the dealer...I realize the casino is taking a reake, but when you win a pot I imagine it is customary to tip the dealer. How much is typical for a $2/4 or $3/6 game. Is there a standard amount or do you tip a percentage of the pot.
What about $100 N/L games or small tournaments.
I usually spend most of my time playing Black Jack and Roulette with my wife...but we both feel reasonably ready to tackle the poker tables this trip...any other advice relating to B&M play would certainly be appreciated.

If you're staying at Caesar's and want to play lower limits, try the Monte Carlo, or even the trifecta of Mandalay Bay/Luxor/Excalibur. All three are connected and have poker rooms with low-limit games, so you can bounce around and find the atmosphere you like the best. I think the Mirage (right next door) also has some tables, but I haven't been there to comment on them.

If you want higher limits ($4/8, etc.) play at the Bellagio.

I generally tip $1 for a normal-sized pot, occasionally I'll tip $2-3 if it's huge. This will cut into your profits like you wouldn't believe, but I'm too kind to be regarded as the table ***hole.

It depends...at $2/4 i tip $.5 to $1 on a medium size pot. If you just pick up the blinds or take it down on the flop, I tip 0 or maybe $.25. You do not have to tip at all but it is nice especially if the dealer is doing a good job. Frankly, at a tight 2/4 table tipping will kill your profit when combined with the rake and drinks.

At $5-10 I tip usually $1.

Interestingly, last time I played NL I did not notice much tipping at all. I don't know if the players were that ignorant or just rude. I grabbed some huge pots $100 + and tiped $5. Otherwise, it was just a buck.
Send lawyers, guns and money - the sh*t has hit the fan!

I usually just tip big pots and when I've chased and hit.
