Stacks 150BB

Villain is SB has played a semi aggressive game likes to bet his draws for 2 streets and give up on river. I have recently raised 20 when 7 players limped on the button, which was called by 2 players (not the villain) then c bet 40 and showed a completely dry bluff with 78s.

2 limpers I raise to 12 with QQ on the button SB raises to 32. I call and it is heads up.

Flop comes J84r, he checks I bet 35 he check raises to 95. I fold my QQ.

Does this make sense?

Not sure. Yes it makes sense if you didn't mention your bluff show.

Is it just one of those times that you need to have a good read to call cause I am playing for stack here. He showed btw. Will wait to post answer though.

If your image is this bad, then you should stack off here for sure. BTW,the majority of live players in my casino games only 3 bet with AK,KK+ preflop

swiggidy will become famous soon enough
Does betting this flop make sense? Is he c/c 99-TT? Would think he'd bet AJ if that's even in his range. Seems like the only value you have is from AK.

That was my thought exactly Swiggidy, That I am only getting value from AK and he would chase to hit the A or the K, which is why I bet, once he raised I knew he had KK+, because I too find that poeple only 3 bet kk+, AK. Anyways, he showed k4o. But I don't think I can make a play here without a read. Since I am still new to live I just don't have the feel yet.

Many such players will flat AK, discounting it somewhat. With less money behind I would snap fold pre-flop. As-is it's a pretty meh spot.

if you insisting on showing bluffs then expect to get played back at; i.e. you'll have to make some thinnish calldowns. if you're not willing to stack overpairs with your image then don't create that image.

short answer: what fnord said.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

..or just don't inspire your opponents to be less predictable to please your ego. If they do or not isn't important if it complicates your hand reading. That said, I know because I've been there.

Great points. No more bluff showing for me. I was disappointed that when I 3 bet the FLOP on some of my flop sets poeple where laying down TPGK, I thought this is live where poeple stack off with anything.

Will keep playing, sparingly.

your table selection sucks. Well, you can definitely run over ppl if they routinely fold their weak hands under pressure when big real money hits the table -just dont show your hands to them.
