Not really a home game, as we had a dealer and rake, but.......
2/4 NL, $200 max buy-in. They apparently started at 3 pm, I sat down ~7, there were a few stacks in the 500-800 range. The table was very loose preflop, with plenty of action all the way to the river. One of the 800 stacks was a "big shot" in a suit, who was clearly bluffing hand after hand; I had a stellar read on him, but never got a hand to play against him.
Went a few orbits without seeing a hand past the flop, best thing I saw was QTs; dwindled down to ~175.
UTG, I get AQs and call the BB. Someone makes it 14, which was the standard raise; I think 5 of us saw the flop JTx. I check, a loose calling station bets 10 (useless bet at this table); everyone calls and eveyone also takes note that this is my 1st hand calling past the flop. Turn is a King, completing the rainbow and my nut straight. I check, loose calling station bets 25, one or two callers, I make it 55, the dumbass pushes all-in to try and bully me. He had Q9 for the lower straight. My stack is now ~400. Sweet!!
A few more times around the table with nothing hands, Im dwindled down to ~350. I get moved off the main table to the must move table, which is tight as a drum. I win a little, lose a little down to about ~300. Three new players, all loose, are seated two of them to my immediate left, and a true calling station at the other end of the table.
UTG, Im dealt AA, woohoo! I go for the limp-reraise, the two LAG players to my left both FOLD. NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!! I was counting on them. So, 4-5 of us see the flop for cheap; its Qxx. There's 20 in the pot, I bet 10 to see who had what, my favorite calling station raises 10 (he only does this kind of bet with medium grade hands, that he he has to protect) I ask "Got AQ? I've got that crushed" I re-raise another 50, for 70 total, he raises all-in for 195 more to me. As I am sure he has AQ, I call. My read was correct; unfortunately, he caught a Q on the turn. I hate playing perfectly for 2-3 hours and losing to someone's stupid play. He even said, that he put me on AA after my question, but still raised all-in. I cant complain about my play; even if I had been able to limp-reraise it up to $100, he would have called to see the flop and played it the same way. Like I said, he is a true calling station. I am now down to ~40. DOH!!!
I go through the blinds once, and the next time around on my BB, I am dealt 78; no PFR. Flop 762, two spades; I throw my last 29 out there and get 3 callers. Figured I was screwed, but my pair held up somehow and put me back up to ~140. Ehh, not to shabby of a comeback.
A few more times around the table, Im in the CO seat, there are already 4 callers in front of me. With that many callers, my K7d doesnt look to bad, so I call. I think 7 players saw the flop, ATx all diamonds, making my K7 look very nice. A new LAGgy player in the BB bets 15, one caller to me, I call to milk it. The turn is a rag, BB goes all-in for ~60, the caller calls again with another ~50 left behind it, I raise him all in. BB had AT for top two pair, the caller had Q5 for the 2nd nut flush. I take down a ~$400 pot. Ahhh, redemption!! Back up to ~500
I get moved back over to the main table, my calling station from earlier (the one that had the lower straight) catches a mad run of big pocket pairs, to beat my lower pocket pairs or big cards. Every time I raised, he'd have TT or higher, and reraise pissed off steve. This is one of the players that rarely bluffs, but loves to bluff me, so I have to call him 90% of the time, and I'm right a large majority of the time. He took ~200 off me on these hands.
I get slowly dwindled down to ~180 again, Im dealt J9s in late position. No raises to me, I call. Flop QT6; a very solid player, who I play regularly, raises 15 into a $16 pot, I call thinking the calling station to my left would call and give me odds, but he folds. The turn is 8, giving me the straight, he bets 50, I stupidly call - mistake #1. The river is another 6, he bets another 50, I raise 50 - mistake #2 - thinking there is no hand that he would bet that way where the 6 helped him; he plays sets on the flop a little faster and pocket pairs with overs a little slower, so he couldnt have QQ, TT or 88. After alot of thought (making me now think the 6 gave him some kind of small boat), he raised my last $15. Had I thought about it more on the river, I would have realised that he was the BB, and considered the possibility of him having something like the 10-6 that he did have. This was the only bad hand of mine for the entire evening, and I made two mistakes on it.
Overall, I had a good time, and played well. Took a few beats here and there, made some quality plays, and some bad ones, but thats poker. I will definately be playing here again.
