Has anyone actually purchased these chips (mentioned in the alternate route sticky)? I'm thinking about getting a set, but I'd love to see a recommendation first...

I was going to buy from them when I found a guy on eBay that did the same thing, for half the price, with all the quality.

Search eBay for seller slamdunk73. I believe I paid $21US + shipping. I selected the design and amounts that I wanted. In a day or two he sent me the gif files for review (don't know if he normally does or not, but I specifically asked him to in the PayPal notes). I made a few changes to one of the images, and I had the stickers here in Nova Scotia about 1.5 weeks later.

I'd take a picture of the chips, but my camera took a shit.

Labels only. Sorry, should have been more specific

And I should add, you can get a 500 set of dice chips for free on "other" sites, so you could do this a hell of a lot cheaper then $89.99

NP. I'm interested in buying the chips w/ the labels, as the ones I have currently have no indention for inserts. (And besides, my current set is a clearly inferior 300 chips; obviously I need another 500).

I'm actually looking at getting the Texas Hold'em chips, as I'd consider them a slight step up from what I currently have.

I've never understood having dice on chips...seems a tad retarded to me.

Cost isn't that big of an issue (assuming quality and a price tag under $200), though if I could do this for significantly cheaper I'd definitely be interested...

If you want to add a little color to your set up. Go with some of the nexgen lucky bee chips over at 5 star. They have an indent and tricolor edgespots to boot.

Go with a stamp instead of a label if you can because labels can come off.

Everything I've read about the labels I'm looking at (or the ones mentioned above) says that both can just about be considered permanent. Add to that that I'd likely end up with a 2:1 ratio for labels to chips, and I think the difference in cost is worth saving my money.

Labels can come off, if you soak them in beer overnight, or pick at them with fingernails or a knife over and over.
I have no issues with my lables at all.

Yeah, my very first set of "personalized chips" were in fact Dice Chips with labels. And I got many compliments. Although centering each label is a bitch.

If the chips are treated with a little respect the labels and graphics will last quite awhile. And on a chip with an indent even longer. Labels are a very good alternative for those who can't justify dropping close to 600/800 dollars on the personalized clays and ceramics.

So having an indent isn't a necessity? How much extra space do the labels take up if there isn't an indent? Would 300 chips still fit in a 300 chip case, for instance? Does it screw with the ability to do chip tricks?

I just got my labels from Personalpokerchips.com the other day. The graphics came out nice and I'm pleased with the way they look on the chips.

OK first thing I'll mention is putting all of the labels on sucks! It took me about 4 hours to get labels on 500 chips. At first I had problems getting the labels centered exactly. After about 20 or so, I got the process down pretty good. I found it was best to stick one edge to its approximate location, slide it a little if necessary, then push down the rest of the label.

I've got the dice chips and they don't have much of an indention. So after all of the labels were put on, the chips indeed did not fit as well as they used to. I have about 1 chip per row less room than I had before.

Finally, mine have only been played in one tournament so far, so I can't really comment on how long they last. They do look like they are on there pretty good, tho. Also, they are pre-sprayed with some kind of coating, so I believe that will help them to last longer.

not a necessity, but helps with storing and accidental peeling. either from shuffling the chips or people with tourettes, lol.
