Another important thing to notice here that might not be obvious to everyone: hero can be expected to c/r this river with the goods because it's reasonable to assume that villain might be betting a missed fd or just bluffing the scarecard.
I hope you didn't run into 8s9s, because a lot of the time you will

I think his most likely hand is Axs. Every other hand may play it differently at one point. So I like it.

Raise flop seems better with AXs so this could just as well be XXs. Also, the ace on the river and the check makes stealing here with XXs pretty automatic.
You just need to be doing this kind of c/r bluffs on the river and this is a very good spot to do it, even though it's always a very marginal play. It takes away credibility from your value plays which is important.
