Alright, i think pre is really debateable. I think we can all agree he's bluffing here a lot but if he's only getting it in with AQ, TT+ anyway i felt like i could take a flop here. + i thought he viewed me as a little spewy because of something i did earlier and though i could get him to pay me off. My read on Eric is that he plays very solid and just an overall good player. I've seen him make disciplined folds and also hero calls. He's not too crazy pre or postflop.
The flop check totally threw me off, i decided not to be because 1) i was confused and 2) he's probably c/sing a balanced range or just all hands so im not sure what to do against a shove.
On the turn he press time after a bit but then called shortly after he pressed it fwiw.

Idk I'd go three streets here. If I was him I don't see any reason why to check any strong hands here. I'm thinking this is AQ/AK a lot. If he has AA-JJ I'm thinking he bets this flop 100%.
I'm tempted to shove here simply because I think Liu could hero call with AK, since there's some high card air we could have here that we could be playing congruently here. But at the same time I'm afraid he has 99/88 that checked the flop simply not to build a pot (though does he 3bet there preflop?)
The time bank on the turn makes me think he has AK/AQ even more.
Given how ridiculous of a hero call he has to make I think you have to be absolutely 99% positive he doesnt have anything better to make this a shove.

I just talked on the phone about this hand and I also had the thought that since this is BU vs SB vs BB this may be more of a river check because Liu could shove up with some very goofy hand that he squeezed pre.

He would never call the turn with AK/AQ imo. I've played with him quite a bit too. I think vs him this is a pretty clear check behind.

Damn I can't imagine ever shoving this except as a bluff. Seems like a check to me as ISF says, i can't see him calling ak/aq here very often at all.

Yah I agree with ISF, I'd probably bet flop/turn for sure. If he c/r flop though that's a pretty gross spot, but deal with that when it comes Iguess.
River I'd check, too thin imo.

Was going through some old hands I played vs Eric last year and happened to look at his EV chart because I remembered that he always ran well against me. PT3 didn't show all-in EV when these hands were played so I never saw this back then. Pretty funny shit

Sorry, was bored and nobody is posting anything interesting :/
It's not even that crazy, 7 BI in EV isn't anything remarkable. I just remember he was getting his money in bad every single time and never lost. I don't remember that he would have played specially bad, he just never folded vs me ever, dunno why.

Your river bet had no value whatsoever. He can't call it and not have you crushed. Check behind and pray you win the pot. He is not going to call with Ace-high.
