This hand came up after reading through the thread where there was discussion about leading out w/ pocket pairs.
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...oker-36715.htm for reference.
Please examine, I'm particularly interested in comments about bet sizes. During this session, I'd been betting $35 pot sized PFR when leading out exclusively. Also, I had been Cbetting nearly always with a range of $50-$70 into a $75-85 pot sizes on the flop.
Villain was not impressive, appeared very weak. Session stats were 27/8/0.82 and overall wasn't much different although not statistically significant:
========================
BB ($907.50)
Hero ($1519)
MP ($1408)
Button ($1989)
SB ($1883.25)
Preflop: Hero is UTG with , .
Hero raises to $35, MP calls $35, 1 fold, SB calls $30, 1 fold.
Flop: ($115) , , (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $70, MP calls $70, SB folds.

PF this is standard ~ Not a big fan of the 70% pot bet on the flop here, I try to aim for 90%+ ~

Looks good to me. Bet into him again on the turn.

pf standard
flop I'd make it $85-$90
turn, depends. If he calls on the flop, I'd usually just fire again on the turn.

this was also my reasoning while the hand was being played. i felt like he could even have called w/ TPWK so i bet out for a pot sized raise. i was going for value because i thought i would get more with the leadout. he may have been likely to check behind there so i thought he'd call more than bet himself. i don't think he reraises there often at all, not worried about that.

because you're obviously ahead and it might have improved his hand. you will very rarely be up against a better hand here.
I don't like your bet on the flop, it's much better to get in 30 more bucks because if u get raised you can get it all in on the flop, and also get more in on the turn. this helps for when you have a hand like JQh or 910h and want to get it in properly with fold equity on the flop.
As played, I would shove river in this spot, and hope that he can't laydown 2 pair.
- probably not a big deal, but your turn bet size could be a tell for your opponents, unless u do the 70% on flop, pot the turn with weak hands as well. usually when i see this (unless it happens a lot) the worst that i think a player will have is top 2 pair or maybe top and bottom.
also, for those saying C/R turn, i really don't like this line, it makes it much more expensive to bluff, lets your opponents control the pot size, sometimes gives free cards, and in general just sucks. It would be good if you are known to C/R draw's on the turn however, but i would only do this a small % of time.

point taken. i have recently been trying to employ a range of bet amounts on flops instead of just hitting pot pot pot. i think it's been effective against thinking/perceptive players, but to average players it's wasted effort.

not sure he calls a push unless i'm beat. he's a caller, that's for sure. in the moment i thought that a value bet was best for two reasons: 1.) more likely to get a call there than a push and 2.) if he did come over the top of me, he probably has me beat, even w/ that little FE. he is not an aggro player for whom i would never give such room to make a play.

this pot sized bet amount was more because i felt like if he was gonna call 200 he would call for the full pot amount and i was extracting value (if there was any to be had). i should have applied the same reasoning to the flop bet.
