i was playing 5 handed with villian and they were folding to all of my cbets, then this hand came up.

hes been kinda passive against me, but i havent really paid attention to how hes playing in other pots. is there anyway of knowing if he has the ace or he is just getting tired of me?

Wow that is a tough one. I dont play these crazy stakes but it seems like that is exactly how he would play the Ah. Check calling the flop then checking turn OOP to the raiser. He would do this trying to take the pot though also, It looks like he bet more than the pot...

Bet the turn? I thought you'd only check the turn if you wanted to induce a bluff on the river...

theres ~620 or so in the pot, he bet 2/3 of the pot, idk.. Like sti said Im not a balla, but I dont see folding here? But I guess thats becasue at my stakes they will do the same with a JQK or A of the suit.

However, why does he check the turn? Being OOP actually helps him here. If the river bet gets payed, doesnt a turn bet? And if the turn bet gets payed or raiesd theres a higher chance of him getting it all in with the nuts. I just dont understand that line for the Ah, but idk.

Maybe, but I would think that even the passive guys would run an aggro line with the A if they think you're getting out of line.

I really like Gabe's line here, follow-through and call, it's less than a PSB.

Limp-call Ahxx? C/c flop with NFD vs. aggro? Check turn? It just doesn't add up.

Every time I find myself in this spot the villian has the ace. I think if I was getting tired of your c-bets I would find a better place to do it.

I don't feel so bad paying off on a similar hand I had last night, then. Full ring, limped QT in middle position, bunch of limpers, flop comes three clubs with the A on the board (I have the Q clubs). Put out a 1/2 pot bet to see if anyone flopped the flush, one caller. Turn blank, check, check behind from villian. Fourth club comes, I push (my stack is about half the pot), insta-call, he has K9 offsuit with K clubs!! Even if I checked and he bet, I guess I was paying him off with the stacks and pot involved....

This is a lot different. He only needs 1 card and there were a few people seeing the flop. There is a good chance someone has the Kc here.
