Gupta has been pot raising almost any Ax and High cards and the going AI on the flop with overcards, and I was planning on calling his AI if the board wasnt too scary. Preflop this play was very good because I knew after that raise he had QQ-AA and that I would take his whole stack if I hit my set. After this hand this guy was absolutely chewing me out and bitching at me for my play, calling me a fish and that I should learn the game. He started raising everyhand going and was on tilt. | The first hand obviously works a charm at lower levels, but I'm interested in how often good players at these higher stakes would call with say AA there? Assuming against the 'average' 2/4 player, would they automatically see this and fold thinking it was standard smart play with a set? If so (and I'm guessing they would) why would this play still be considered standard at these stakes? | ||

No need to pull the trigger....cold call him up the river and then pull it. Not everyone will call this all in and i dont see the need to protect your hand so hard. Kindly bet stuff he will call until the river and then push. No comment on second hand

| The first hand was nicely played. It looked like you were another fish trying to tell the lag to piss off by over-valuing and overbetting some sort of weak tptk or overpair. The second hand, well, you did just that. He's not calling you without you being beat of course. Looks like you were reppin another set? Risking too much to win too little. At least you got a nice payday. | ||

| The 2nd hand was one of those hands that you needed to be there and have watched the table to understand it. It was indeed lucky, but I stand by my play. This guy was tilting hardcore and would call bets like this with a mid pair, etc. | ||

| Well in that case, posting it doesn't do a whole lot of good without including the information. Still, it seems like quite an overbet. If you're dead sure he's going to call with a 5 or a 6 then I guess its an ok play, but it seems like overkill and a big risk. Of course you do play about 4x higher than I do, but still, I'm not much loving the second hand. First hand was beautiful though. | ||
