Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (4 handed) internettexasholdem.com
Hero ($4445)
SB ($1000)
BB ($863.12)
UTG ($3808.13)
Preflop: Hero is Button with Ten of Hearts, Ten of Diamonds. SB posts a blind of $5.
UTG raises to $41, Hero calls $41, 2 folds.
Flop: ($97) Five of Spades, Ten of Spades, Two of Diamonds (2 players)
UTG bets $77, Hero raises to $177, UTG calls $100.
Turn: ($451) Queen of Clubs (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $300, UTG calls $300.
River: ($1051) Jack of Spades (2 players)
UTG bets $811, Hero folds
Final Pot: $1862
UTG is a 44/22 aggro player. Notice the stack sizes as I think they really come into play on this hand. Do I beat anything on the river other than air? Agree/Disagree?

i think your flop raise size is bad. if you dont want to scare him away i wouldn't raise the flop at all and bomb any non spade turn, but most of the time raise flop to at least 240ish

Ya now that I think about it since we are so deep raise flop to 275ish pot turn for 600 and then river plays totally different.

also consider not raising flop since you are so deep. it adds so much deception because good hand readers never put you on a flopped set. of course it sucks when the spade comes and ruins your action, but sometimes you can win really big pots with tihs line.

He wasn't a good hand reader. He was an over-agressive player but not that bad. Raising the flop vs him is def the best line as he overplayed a lot of hands vs me earlier.

then it seems like you know what you did wrong, but i know how that goes. you just knoooooow they are so aggro that they will reraise or bet into you on the next street and get paid but it never works out

How about a reraise preflop vs. a 44/22?
Isn't a flop raise more deceptive than call, raise turn? JJ+ will put you on a FD more easily.
